Sheri graduated from Lamar University with a degree in Management Information Systems and later graduated in 2003 with a degree in Accounting. She has been licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant since 2005 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXCPA).
Sheri is a Past President of the Southeast Texas Chapter of TXCPA, and is currently serving on the TXCPA Practice Issues Committee. In her year as President, the Southeast Texas Chapter TXCPA was selected to receive the Outstanding Chapter Award.
In 2014, Sheri received the TXCPA Rising Star award, which is given to Texas CPAs who are 40 years old or younger and have demonstrated exemplary leadership skills and active involvement in TXCPA, the accounting profession and/or their communities.
Sheri is a also a Past President of the Southeast Texas Estate Planners Council, a Member of the Lamar University Accounting Advisory Council and a past member of the Lamar Alumni Advisory Board. In May 2010, Sheri graduated from the 18th class of Leadership Southeast Texas (LSET) and served as Asst. Secretary/Treasurer for many years and the Chair of the LSET Advisory Council in 2021 and 2022, along with serving as a Co-Chair on the Communications Committee.
Sheri is a proud grandmother to Elaina and Willow, resides in Beaumont with her husband Doug, and she loves to workout and attend group fitness events with her favorite fitness expert, Cathe Friedrich.
