About Sheri

    Sheri joined EKC in 2003 and became a shareholder on Jan. 1, 2012. In 2001, Sheri graduated from Lamar University with a degree in Management Information Systems and later graduated in 2003 with a degree in Accounting. She has been licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant since 2005 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA).

    Sheri is a Past President of the Southeast Texas Estate Planners Council, a Member of the Lamar University Accounting Advisory Council, a Past President of the Southeast Texas Chapter of TSCPA, and has served on the TSCPA Chapter Coordinating Steering Subcommittee. In May 2010, Sheri graduated from the 18th class of Leadership Southeast Texas (LSET) and is currently serving as Asst. Secretary/Treasurer on the LSET Advisory Council.

    In 2014, Sheri received the TSCPA Rising Star award, which is given to Texas CPAs who are 40 years old or younger and have demonstrated exemplary leadership skills and active involvement in TSCPA, the accounting profession and/or their communities.

    Sheri has been married to Doug for 25 years, they have one son, Travis and a granddaughter, Elaina. Sheri loves to workout and attend group fitness events with her favorite fitness expert, Cathe Friedrich.  She and Doug love to hang out at the lake with friends and family, and enjoy boating and fishing.
